We believe that by doing, we learn. By challenging themselves, students are better equipped to deal with the world ahead of them. Along the way they also forge long term memories of their achievements, and the challenges they overcame at camp, as well as depending their friendships and social skills. It is also a time of reflection, heightened self-awareness and growth, all in natural, safe and nurturing surroundings.
With fresh produce and nutritious meals for active bodies and minds, our food program is a priority at Grampians Retreat. We believe in ethically sourced, local produce where possible, which we supplement with freshly picked organic produce from our own onsite permaculture gardens. Our regulated rainwater system provides an abundance of fresh rainwater, and we ensure we minimise food waste, recycle as much as possible and educate students on the importance of a healthy, ethical and sustainable camp.
Our Programs and Activities
We know how hard teachers and school staff work, so we’ve made it easy and provided some sample programs below to inspire you and motive your students!
The Grampians is a beautiful region and Grampians Retreat is on 80 acres of secluded bushland, national park, river flats and wetlands full of wildlife, flora and serenity. The peaceful setting also provides teachers and staff with some time away from the day-to-day school routine and we’ve had such positive feedback from staff saying they’ve not only been able to connect with their students, but also come away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated themselves.
